Family Sunday at the MuseumNassau County Museum of ArtEnjoy a museum tour and art activities for the whole family.

Now there's even more reason for families to plan the weekend around a visit to Nassau County Museum of Art. Each Sunday the museum offers a 1 pm docent-led family walk-through of the exhibition and, beginning at 1:30 pm, supervised art activities for the whole family. Special family guides of the main exhibition are available in the galleries. Family Sunday at the Museum is free with museum admission.

The Math Midway exhibit provides an interactive, hands-on tour of mathematical concepts, in a fun-filled carnival style!!! Activities include:
· Ride the Square-Wheeled Tricycle
· Spin the Universal Wheel of Chance
· Experience Mind-bending Mirrors
The Math Midway is a production of the Museum of Mathematics, America's only museum dedicated to the wonders of math. For more information, see the momath.org website.
July 4th Celebration at Sagamore HillSagamore Hill Date: 07/04/2010 from 11:00am to 4:00pm

Admission Fees: Free, $5 to tour the house
Celebrate the 4th of July at your local presidential site! See the Rough Riders, hear President Theodore Roosevelt (portrayed by James Foote) speak, and tour Sagamore Hill. The first floor of the Roosevelt Home will be open to all visitors free of charge from 10am to 4pm. National Park Rangers and park volunteers will be available to answer questions and tell stories about family life at TR's "Summer White House." Guided tours will not be given and tickets are not necessary. Starting at 11:00 a.m. traditional American fare such as hot dogs, hamburgers, popcorn, soft drinks and ice cream will be available for purchase on site. From 2 - 4pm, professional storyteller Jonathon Kruk will tell stories to children about the Roosevelt family.

Annual fireworks display which takes place over the beach near Montauk Village. This is definitely one of the highlights of the entire season and depending on the weather draws huge crowds of spectators who watch from right on the beach. HINT: you should try to get there early to get a good spot on the beach.
4th of July CelebrationBrookhaven Amphitheater Date: 07/04/2010 at 5:00pm
Celebrate Independence Day at the Brookhaven Amphitheater with fun, fireworks and a special tribute to our soldiers by the United States Army Field Band. Parking lot opens at 5pm, seating opens at 6pm, show starts at 730pm with fireworks at 920pm (approximately).
